Robert Fripp and the League of Gentlemen, "God Save the King" An intriguing and listenable diversion from Fripp's more intellectually-challenging oeuvre. I thought of it for the track 'H. G. Wells', although my personal favorite here is "Inductive Resonance".
Keith Jarrett, "The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book I" This, along with Edward Aldwell's volume II, are my default "calm down and think" music.
Edward Aldwell, "J.S. Bach: The Well-Tempered Clavier, Book II" This, along with Keith Jarrett's volume I, are my default "calm down and think" music.
React 10. Just for track 6 on disc 1. Although the rest of the disc is also fun.
Miles Davis, "Kind of Blue". Evokes the coolness of the early 60's very nicely (it was actually recorded in 1959). Makes me think of people dressed well for travel. Hats, cigarettes, horn-rimmed glasses.
California Guitar Trio, "Yamanashi Blues". Precise and sedate classical interpretations of Bach, interspersed with Surf Music and the occasional Frippian etude.
